Would we go here again? Yes, but for no more than 5-6 days at most, as everything gets repetitive after that.Įverything from the transportation to the resort, to the check in and golf cart ride to our home away from home, was perfection. At first, it was a bit off-putting, but we chose not to upgrade out of principal after discovering what we were missing, since it was minimal. However, at Valentin, if you don't have the Privilege (upper-tier) package, you cannot access one of the pools (it was near-deserted anyway), and you cannot access prime lounge beds on the beach or pool (many of which were empty). You pay for a room, and everything is included within the resort. My wife and I have gone to a few other high-end all-inclusives, and usually there are no tiers. The food trucks by the main pool with food-service to your lounge chair - On site modern coffee shop is a really nice touch - The tranquility of the resort (it's quiet if you're not near the main pool, and perfect to just take strolls around during the day/night) - Beach property is also nicely sized and nestled between private properties on both sides - Two room turndowns during the day With that being said, the main downside was the existence of the Privilege Package. Our specific positive highlights were: - Go Entertainment group (especially Jesus) - great beach volleyball, pool volleyball, pool aerobics classes - The French Restaurant (we went 3 times) - everything was amazing on the menu. Everything was almost perfect about this resort. My wife and I traveled to this resort in December 2021 for about a weeklong trip. They have gone up in price and you can't upgrade for as good a deal but the service is what will keep us coming back. :) All in all if we want to stay at a higher end resort and pay that price we will return due to the service. We don't mind because we like dressing up for dinner. We found out the hard way ourselves the first time we came in 2019. We overheard some men saying they didn't know. One other thing, gentlemen do need to wear pants, collard shirts and closed toed shoes for most restaurants. It is enclosed by a glass shower-type door. There is little to no privacy in the toilet area. This time the upgrade was going to cost us twice the amount as our entire stay so we opted to just stay in a silver level suite. Also last time we were in an ocean view room that had a separate toilet area. This is a little irksome because I feel you should be able to have a room the temp you want it if your paying for it, at least as long as your in the room, like evening hours. They sent someone in again and they "raised the limit" on how low we could put the temperature. They sent me a mid stay review and asked if I had an unresolved issue. It is a very humid environment so the temp they allow does not make it cool enough to balance out the humidity. It is working but they put a limit on how low you can adjust the temp. If you call and complain they will send someone to check the room and then they will tell you everything is working fine. Two things regarding the rooms, they are very warm. We didn't find it hard to find a more quiet spot when we wanted some peace and privacy. Those that are a little more subdued and some who are a little louder. There is a good mix of people at this resort. We're not sure about this as we just came back from Cabo and everything stayed open as normal. They said due to a mandate in all of Mexico they had to shut everything down by 10:00. We could tell they work hard to have something every night even if they aren't doing their regular shows right now. Evening entertainment is surprisingly good. We just swam past the rocks and it was fine. One thing to know is that we think due to a storm the beginning of where you get into the water was very rocky but once you get over that it is super soft sand. This is still one of our favorite beaches it was very calm most days and free of seaweed. There is no buffet at the restaurant by the beach so if you have been here before that is an adjustment and ordering food for breakfast and lunch is a very long drawn out process so we just ordered breakfast and got lunch from the taco truck so we didn't spend all day trying to get food. The mask "rules" are a little confusing and not completely enforced but we feel there is a learning curve to this and if you're traveling right now its just something you have to learn to navigate. The service is still impeccable and is one of our favorite resorts because of this. We came back because we liked it so much the first time. This was our 2nd time at this resort and our 13th trip to Mexico.
